Granny Onion, Jane’s whimsical grand-mother, has taken one last eternal after-lunch nap. Jane and her mother Cécile hurry to the countryside to prepare the funeral, only to discover that Granny Onions’ last with is to be “humused”, a process that involves returning the body to the earth in the most natural way.
Cécile rules against it. That’s just another of Granny’s eccentricities, and besides, it’s not even legal! Jane however is determined, and with the help of her precious friends, she will set to a wild escape to the edge of the tangible world, alongside her granny’s facetious ghost.
Granny Onions’ last journey will bring the three generations of women back together and redefine the contours of a widened family.
